What is Trump's AI Force actually going to do?

So the President got on his social media platform and announced he is building an "AI Force." Not a bill, not a briefing, a Saturday post. He compared it directly to Space Force, said only "high IQ individuals" need apply for the person who will run it, and promised the government will cherish, help and watch over the AI industry as it grows.

Ok but what does it actually do? Who runs it? What powers does it have?

Here is the honest answer. Nobody knows yet, including apparently the people announcing it. There is no structure, no legal authority spelled out, no leader named, and no start date. The post arrived with vibes, not a plan.

The government's answer to "we think we need brakes" is apparently "we are forming a Force that promises not to touch the brakes at all."

And the timing has an extra layer. The announcement leans hard on the idea that the country cannot afford to slow down while others race ahead, which makes the total absence of detail even stranger. If speed is the whole justification, you would expect the follow up to actually be fast.
